NEW YEAR'S MEME [Monday
December 29th, 2008
3:19pm
]

From Julie.

What did you do in 2008 that you’d never done before?

  1. Worked at the Ateneo.
  2. Made a speech 30 minutes before I saying it in front of two thousand people.
  3. Left for Spain.

Did you keep your new years’ resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
Did I make any?

I'm in Spain.

What would you like to have in 2009 that you lacked in 2008?
A healthy diet and smaller boobs.

What date from 2008 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
OH GOD SO FREAKIN MANY. The day Gabby died, the day I graduated, the day we had the big party, the day I made a speech in front of the whole Ateneo community, the send-off for me, the day I left Davao, the day I left the Philippines, the day I arrived in Madrid...

ii. thinner or fatter? fatter, I think
iii. richer or poorer? depends... still living on my mother's wallet

Being with my former teachers now former colleagues.

Okay, I have totally decided to make this my personal livejournal. The reason is that I need a journal totally separate from that of my Multiply. I'm friends with my relatives and parents on Multiply, so its totally impersonal. I totally do the FOR SELECTED CONTACTS ONLY option but sometimes I need opinions from those outside my circle. So here it is:

CAN'T FINISH! [Thursday

Its official.

I will not be able to reach the 50K mark.

But still, I am so happy I got past the 25K mark, which is more than I can say for last year's NaNoWriMo. Barely made it past 10K.

I still do want to finish my story. Not in this year, maybe, but definitely before I go back home to Davao.

Well, it was worth it, and I'm glad I was part this year!

CHAPTER 1 - Make It Mine (Part 2)

Wake up everyone
How can you sleep at a time like this
Unless the dreamer is the real you
Listen to your voice
The one that tells you to taste past the tip of your tongue
Lip and the neck will appear

NaNoWriMo has started and I clocked in days one and two at 3,451 words. I'm only two-thirds from finishing the first chapter, which is good news. My goal was to have more or less 4,167 words per chapter, and it looks like chapter one will be exceeding the minimum by-chapter requirement.

I swear the first chapter will be finished tomorrow, and I'll get to post it here.

Good luck to everyone once again!

[ music | Total Dance 2008 ]

Anique "Nikki" Sanchez, the youngest CNN Executive ever, comes back from her one-month vacation in the Philippines disturbed and frustrated at her father. For the duration of her vacation, she was subjected to one blind date, and another, and then another, in her father's hopes that she settle down before she menopauses. While absolutely having no plans to marry EVER, a talk with her good friends - gay anchorman Anderson Carter, sarcastic head CNN research analyst Francesca Roberts, and good-natured co-anchor Erica Hall - changes her perception and she and Anderson agree to one thing: they marry each other. While Anique is in it to satisfy her father and Anderson in it to silence the ever-increasing gossip about his sexuality, they both soon realize that there may be something more to their relationship than friendship and a marriage license.

(Disclaimer: This novel borrows its title from Jason Mraz's newest album, which obviously is of the same name. The novel itself is based on the songs included in the said album, and each chapter will be entitled accordingly. I do not claim any ownership on the songs and the album itself, those solely belong to Jason Mraz and his producers. This is just for fun. )

(Disclaimer #2: The characters in this story are based on real people - don't be too surprised if that character is TOO familiar. Names have been *slightly* altered. Again, this is just for fun.)

(Disclaimer #3: The header is made by me, although digital art images are created by kenmeyerjr and theGaffeny both at deviantart.com. Used without permission.)
